Hello
I’d like to thank everybody for taking the time to read these e-mails.
There are many things that I’d love to see happen at PSCC over the next year or so. Below I’ve listed a few visions, hopes and ideas for 2012.
This is just a place to start (many more thoughts are swirling around in my head)…and certainly, God has MUCH MORE in store for PSCC than this list could possibly contain.
• Monthly seeing individuals come to salvation through the testimony and relationships of our people
• See people regularly visit, get saved, and become a part of the church, through PSCC ministries such as First Harvest, MOPS, Youth,& special community events
• Healing // restoration // growth of relationships within the PSCC body
• See continued growth and individual healing for those in the body who have experienced abuse and/or neglect
• To have a part-time Christian counselor at PSCC (15-20 hours weekly)
• Regular Sunday attendance of 100 people
• Start walking down the path of purchasing the building
• Enough resources(helpers—food—$$$) for First Harvest Food Pantry to operate each weekend of the month
• Purchase of a van and have a leader of a “church rides”ministry
• Meet our budget each month
• Additional part-time paid staff and ministers as needed
• Start of a “Community Center” (universal machine, crafts, ping-pong, etc) as a means to building relationships and reaching those in our community
• See continued growth in Children’s church // Jr. High and High School group
• Start a College Group
• Increase our financial donations to Missions
• 1 or possibly 2 PSCC Missions trips (Amor? Indian Res? Other?)
• See SHH start a Men’s Home
So let’s talk about how to “get there”.
In order for our church to grow in any fashion or be able to function properly, we need to follow the instructions given in Romans 12:1 (actually the whole chapter is about operating as a healthy body).
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
Of course, in order for this to be done we need to have a great love for God, one another, and love our community…which I can tell you from personal experience, is impossible to do on your own.
This kind of love and dedication must come from God, only He is the source of love, life, power and health!
If we accomplish all the bullet points listed above and yet lack God’s love, we have terribly missed the mark and all those accomplishments would simply be a noisy, empty, waste of time. (1 Cor. 13:1-3)
A great future for PSCC begins with each of us knowing, believing, and being convinced of God’s love!
Let your heart be pierced by His love, kindness, forgiveness, patience, mercy, grace, care, and compassion…let it fill your soul. Surrender yourself to it!
1 John 4:16 says…
We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
The next verse starts by telling us…
By this, love is perfected with us
Then, we read 1 verse later…
We love, because He first loved us.
The love of God accepted by you, creates in you, a greater love for Him and others.
This will naturally result in our willingness to lay down our lives (gifts, abilities, passions, time, money, etc…) as a holy sacrifice and an act of worship.
So then, we can see that all our hopes, plans, visions, and ideas for our church must originate out of God’s love.
I hope that today you’re surrendering to His goodness towards you.
Open yourself up to His love and cleansing. Meditate on it. Dwell on it. Proclaim it. Enjoy it!
Let there be no mistake, I’m hopeful for many great things in 2012…but BY FAR my greatest desire for us is that we would fall more deeply in love with Jesus Christ!
Looking forward to seeing our love grow and overflow in such a way that we can stand in confidence before Christ. (1 Thes. 3:12-13 // 1 John 4:17)
